Walleye Drop Second Straight Game to Everblades in Florida, 4-3 in Shootout
11/13/2009 - Looking to bounce back from a 6-1 loss Wednesday night, the Walleye led 2-1 into the third period but could not hold on, falling to the Everblades 4-3 in a shootout. Toledo plays once more in the Sunshine State on Saturday before returning home next weekend.
Adam Hobson and Evan Rankin had the Walleye up 2-1 at second intermission but two goals just over a minute apart gave the Everblades the lead in the third. Hobson gave the Walleye second life with his second tally of the game (sixth of the season) with just under three minutes to play in regulation.
Following a pair of off-setting penalties at the end of the regulation, the teams played 3-on-3 for the first two minutes of overtime. Alec Richards made the save of the game, sprawling from left to right across the goal crease to turn away a 2-on-1 opportunity for the Everblades.
