Wings take down Toledo, 4-0




2/4/2012 - (Toledo, OH)-The Toledo Walleye were held scoreless, as they fell to the Kalamazoo Wings 4-0 on Saturday night in front of 7,266 fans at the Huntington Center. The Walleye are now 18-23-2-2 overall and 10-12-0-2 on home ice.

A back and forth first period saw neither team able to get a goal on the scoreboard. Toledo send eight shots at the Kalamazoo net and goaltender Dustin Carlson stopped all 10 shots sent his way.

Kalamazoo would open the scoring at 7:56 of the second period after Trent Daavettila scored on the power play. The Wings took a 2-0 after Elgin Reid scored on a breakaway, getting his shot past Carlson at the 9:35 mark. Darryl Bootland extended the Kalamazoo lead to 3-0, getting a shorthanded goal at 12:12 of the middle period.

Toledo sent 10 shots on net for a two period total of 18.

Mike Thomas dropped the gloves with Bootland at the 9:40 mark of the third period. Riley Emmerson also fought with Darren Archibald at 12:14 of the final period.

The Wings would take a 4-0 off a Justin Taylor goal with :51 left on the clock.
