Walleye fall in Cincinnati on Friday night
3/30/2012 - (Cincinnati, OH)–Joey Martin scored twice for Toledo, but the Walleye lost 5-2 in Cincinnati. Toledo is 28-37-2-4 on the season and 14-19-2-1 away from home.
The two teams skated end to end for much of the first period. Cincinnati would score twice in a

“We have let ourselves fall behind way too much in the last couple of weeks,” said Head Coach
Nick Vitucci. “You can’t do that against quality opponents and hope to win consistently. I thought
we fought hard tonight.”
Cincinnati would take a 3-0 at 13:19 of the second period when former Walleye forward Mike
Pelech tipped a rebound past Richards. The Walleye would get their first goal of the night at 15:55
of the second when Joey Martin beat Cincinnati goaltender Brian Foster. Nick Oslund and Kyle Rogers drew the assists on Martin’s team leading 21st goal of the season.
Martin would score his second goal of the game at 6:54 of the third period to make it a 3-2 game. Bryan Rufenach and Gleason Fournier assisted on Martin’s power play goal. The Cyclones score twice later in the third to end the scoring.
