11/19/2012 - Be 'bear-y' generous on Saturday, December 1 and bring a teddy bear to toss on the Huntington Center ice after the Walleye score their first goal ! The annual Teddy Bear Toss, presented by BCSN, is a can't miss, feel good, holiday event! All teddy bears will be donated to Lucas County Children Services. "The bears we receive through the Bear Toss provide comfort for children being helped by our agency at the holiday season and all year long," said Julie Malkin, Public Information Officer for Lucas County Children Services. "Children who are checked out in our medical clinic can select a bear to make their visit easier, and we also have a tradition of giving children who are being adopted a stuffed animal that they, themselves, can adopt."
