Walleye downed by the Cyclones 4-2 on Friday
11/23/2012 - (Toledo, OH)-Ben Youds and Randy Rowe each scored for the Walleye, but it was not enough as Toledo’s three game winning streak was snapped tonight in a 4-2 loss to the Cincinnati Cyclones at the Huntington Center. Toledo is now 9-7-0-1 overall this season and 4-5-0 at home.
Cincinnati took a 1-0 lead 7:57 into the opening period, after Garrett Wilson slid a wraparound shot in behind Walleye goaltender Kent Simpson.
Toledo sent six shots at Cincinnati goaltender Brian Foster, while Simpson faced seven shots on goal.
The Cyclones would strike twice in the second period, extending their lead to 3-0. The first goal came at 7:41 with Jonathan Hazen lifting a puck over Simpson and into the net on the power play. Michael Pelech scored the second goal at 12:24 tipping a shot past Simpson.
Simpson faced eight shots on goal during the second period and the Walleye sent six shots at Foster.
Ben Youds got Toledo on the board 1:16 into the third period, firing a slap shot behind Foster. Andrej Nestrasil and Willie Coetzee assisted on the goal that made the score 3-1 in favor of the Cyclones.
David Pacan gave the Cyclones a 4-1 lead after he put home a pass from Wilson at 8:21 of the final period.
Toledo cut Cincinnati’s lead in half at the 16:12 mark of the final period, with Randy Rowe netting his sixth goal of the season from Coetzee and Youds.

-Toledo goaltender Kent Simpson stopped 15 of 19 shots on goal and is 3-5-0-1 this season.
