Another record setting year for the Walleye

(Toledo, OH) – From the over 250,000 fans to a new record for consecutive victories, the 2016-17 season was another special one for the Walleye. In total, the team reached or set 18 Walleye records with a full list below.

In the stands was one of the main highlights as far as records were concerned with a new single season mark for total fans (254,660), average attendance (7,074) with a staggering 20 sellouts. With those this year’s squad set 33 team and individual new Walleye records including most road wins (25) and longest winning streak (9 games). Included during the year was the 300th regular season victory in Walleye history.

This year’s team also set some new Toledo ECHL (Walleye and Storm combined) records including a new mark for most wins (51) while goaltender Jake Paterson set a new single season mark for shutouts (7) and career shutouts with 9. Toledo also became the first team in the 29 year history of the ECHL to lead the league in goals (302), allowed (191), power play percentage (25.1%) and penalty kill (86.8%).
