(Toledo, OH) Tylor Spink scored 1:15 into overtime as the Walleye defeated Tulsa 3-2 Sunday night at the Huntington Center. Toledo has an overall record of 46-14-2-1 and is 23-5-1-1 at home. Toledo has won nine straight home contests.

Neither team found the back of the net in the first period with Jake Paterson was on his game for the Walleye posting 12 saves. The scoreless game wouldn’t last long as 30 seconds into the second Landon Oslanski blasted a slap shot into the top corner of the net for a 1-0 Toledo lead. Shane Berschbach picked up an assist on that goal for the 200th point in his Walleye career.

After Tulsa tied the game, Zach Nastasiuk took an Evan Rankin pass and went to the backhand to beat PJ Musico at 5:47 for a 2-1 lead. At 15:15 of the third period, a scramble in front of the Toledo resulted in the Oilers tying the game.

In overtime Shane Berschbach took a Simon Denis and raced into the Tulsa resulting in the Oilers taking a penalty. Toledo made Tulsa pay with a blast from Tylor Spink (23rd) at 1:15 for a power play game-winning goal. It was Toledo’s seventh overtime win of the year (7-2).

Walleye Notes: Goaltender Jake Paterson picked up his 31st win of the year with 27 saves on 29 Tulsa shots. Shane Berschbach’s two assist night gives him 201 points (56G, 145A) in a Walleye uniform. Toledo is unbeaten in nine straight home games (9-0-1) and they have a record of 30-3-1 when scoring first.
