Walleye blanket the Fuel

(Indianapolis, IN) Evan Rankin scored goal number 100 in a Walleye uniform as the Walleye defeated the Fuel 4-1 Friday night at Indy. Toledo has an overall record of 30-7-0-1 and is 18-5-0-0 on the road.
History was made just 16 seconds into the game as Evan Rankin (17th) scored off of a Tylor Spink pass for the 100th Walleye goal for Rankin. That would be the lone goal of the first period as Toledo out shot Indy 11-9.
The scoring continued for the Walleye in the second period at 4:36 when Shane Berschbach found the back of net for his 8th goal of the year. Jordan Hill sent a pass to Tylor Spink (13th) at 6:19 of the period and Tylor wristed shot past Indy goaltender Jake Hildebrand for a 3-0 lead. Alex Wideman would squeak a shot past Jake Paterson at 8:56 to pull within two after the second period.
J.P. LaFontaine posted his third goal in as many games when he blasted in a rebound at 7:07 of the third period for the final goal of the game.
Walleye Notes: Goaltender Jake Paterson stopped 26 of the 27 shots he faced and has a record of 20-5-0-1 this season. Toledo is 12-0-1 all-time against Indy. Rankin is the first player in Walleye history to score 100 goals, Evan is also the Walleye all-time leader in points with 189.
