Warkentin spent four years (2007-2011) with the OCN Blizzard of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. In 2009-10, the twenty-two year old collected 41 points (13g, 28a) and 116 penalty minutes in 62 contests. Dale was named to the MJHL First All-Star Team in 2010, and was Second All-Star Team in 2011.
