Pink in the Rink

The Toledo Walleye and ProMedica have teamed up in the fight against breast cancer. This year, the Walleye will again play TWO "Pink in the Rink" games to raise money and promote breast cancer awareness. Additionally, information will be available on the screening, treatment, survivor, and prevention services provided by ProMedica Breast Care and ProMedica Cancer Institute, and Komen for the Cure of Northwest Ohio. Wear pink and bring your friends and family to the games on Saturday, February 28 and Sunday, March 1.

 

Saturday, February 28

  • Ice surface will be painted pink
  • Pink 'Twist and Fold' Rally Towel giveaway to the first 2,000 fans
  • Walleye to wear special edition pink-themed jersey
  • Postgame pink jersey auction; proceeds to Komen NW Ohio and Walleye Wishing Well

Sunday, March 1

  • Ice surface will be painted pink
  • 'Pink in the Rink' inflatable flags for the first 3,000 fans,  presented by ProMedica Breast Care and ProMedica Cancer Institute.
  • Walleye to wear special edition pink-themed jersey
  • Team autographed pink hockey stick raffle; proceeds to Komen NW Ohio and Walleye Wishing Well
  • FREE postgame skate on the pink ice, presented by Applebee's

Pink Game Worn Jersey Auction

The Toledo Walleye will wear pink specialty jerseys during the “Pink in the Rink” weekend at the Huntington Center on Saturday, February 28 and Sunday, March 1. The game worn pink jerseys will be auctioned off live following the game on February 28, with proceeds to benefit Susan G. Komen of NW Ohio and the Walleye Wishing Well charitable fund. A team signed pink-themed jersey will also be sold during the live auction.

 

Pink Hockey Stick Raffle

Walleye Equipment Manager Dave Aleo was inspired to create a unique Pink in the Rink item. A team signed pink hockey stick will be raffled off on Sunday. Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20, with proceeds going to Susan G. Komen of NW Ohio and Walleye Wishing Well. The winner will be announced during the third period of the game.
