Walleye shut out Thunder for eighth straight victory

(Toledo, OH) - The Walleye shut out the Thunder 1-0 on Sunday evening in Toledo. Pat Nagle stopped all 29 shots faced to improve to 22-4-2-1 on the season. The Walleye are 33-12-2-2 on the season and 20-4-0-0 at home.

The Walleye outshot Witcha 13-4 in the first period. Though they had good chances, Shane Starrett stopped all 13 Walleye shots. Pat Nagle shined in the second period, turning aside all 19 Wichita shots. "With the boys helping me out, I was able to see and stay in this game," said Nagle.

AJ Jenks set up Dylan Sadowy with a perfect pass to get the Walleye on the board. 

"If you act good defensively, get the puck, now you're on the offense. Our guys love to have the puck," said head coach, Dan Watson. "If you don't have the puck, the five guys need to work together to get it."

Fish Tales:

  • The Walleye are in Brampton on Tuesday for a 7:15 p.m. puck drop against the Beast. The team returns home on February 23rd for a 7:15 p.m. puck drop against Atlanta.
