Walleye News and Notes

Walleye complete November on a high note: After dropping back to back road games in Cincinnati and Fort Wayne this week the Walleye rebounded with a pair of wins to finish November with a 9-2-1. Toledo scored twice in the third period Friday to pull away from Worcester 4-1 at home and then snapped a 1-1 tie late in the third period with a quick pair of goals to complete a 3-1 win at Brampton.

Huntington Center Rockin': Another home game equals yet another standing room only crowd with 7,502 on hand for the Friday night 4-1 win over the Worcester Railers. Toledo continues to lead the ECHL with 7,924 per game and is a perfect six for six to start this season in sellouts at the Huntington Center.

Best home start ever: The Friday victory for the Walleye continued its best home start in Walleye history. Only one other year did the Walleye even win its first two games at home to start a year (2012-13). After those two wins to start that year the Walleye lost its next three at home.

Machovsky the wall: Since returning from an injury suffered in his first start of the year, Matej Machovsky has been lights out for the Walleye winning two of his three starts and has allowed a total of just three goals in those games with a 1.01 GAA and a .963 SVP.

Watson likes fast starts: Walleye head coach Dan Watson has his teams ready to start seasons with a combined record of 27-7-2 in October and November.

Only two games ahead this week: After playing four games in each of the last weeks, things slow down a bit for the Walleye with just one trip to Fort Wayne Friday night, followed by a visit from the Indy Fuel on Saturday at the Huntington Center. The Home team has dominated the series between rivals Toledo and Fort Wayne While the Walleye have won two games played this year over the Fuel with both in Indianapolis.
