Walleye acquire two defensemen

Toledo has acquired defenseman Landon Oslanski (oz-land-ski) from the Wichita Thunder in exchange for future considerations. Defenseman Parker Reno has agreed to terms with the Toledo Walleye for the remainder of the 2016-17 season.

Oslanski, a native of Camrose, Alberta, has appeared in 54 games this year for the Thunder with 78 penalty minutes and 17 points (2G, 15A). The 24 year old has already appeared in 265 professional and ECHL games with 32 goals, 82 assists and 260 penalty minutes. He is coming off a career year when in 2015-16 between Alaska and Wichita he posted a personal best 13 goals and 35 points.

The 5’11”, 198 pound defenseman finished that year with 10 power play goals which was third most in the league and was named to the 2015 ECHL All-Star game. He has also skated for Stockton, Rapid City and Missouri in the ECHL. In five years prior to turning professional in 2013, Oslanski appeared in 279 games in the WHL between Spokane, Lethbridge and Everett. In those contests he accrued 33 goals with 85 assists for 188 points and 335 penalty minutes.

Reno just finished his senior season at Renssleaer Polytechnic Institution where over the last four years with 100 games played. An Assistant Captain this year for the Engineers, the 22 year old posted three goals and 16 assists with 30 penalty minutes in his career. This year the 6’2”, 195 pound defenseman appeared in all 37 games with a goal and six assists. The native of Edina, Minnesota was named to the ECAC All-Academic team in 2016.

Prior to joining R.P.I., Reno played Edina High School of the Minnesota State High School league where he was a captain for two seasons and was a member of two state championship teams in 2010 and 2013.
