The 2017-18 Toledo Walleye roster features plenty of ‘new faces’ to T-Town, but with that comes plenty of ECHL experience.
Among the newcomers is defenseman Davis Vandane, who played last season with Elmira.
“I’m excited because the guys who played here before have nothing but good things to say about Toledo,” says Vandane. “Now that I’m here, it’s even more of an eye opener. I can’t wait to get things going.”
Among those in training camp for the Walleye are ten players who wore a different ECHL uniform last season:
- Austen Brassard, Utah
- Tyler Barnes, Indy and Allen
- Christian Hilbrich, Wheeling
- Colin Martin, Utah
- Connor Crisp, Brampton
- David Vandane, Elmira
- Kevin Tansey, Missouri
- Ryan Obuchowski, Missouri
- Frank Schumacher, Ft. Wayne
- Pat Nagle, Ft. Wayne
"Everyone’s goal is to improve and play at the next level,” says Vandane. “At the same time we all want to win, so if at the end of the season we’re sitting in the locker room celebrating a Kelly Cup championship, that’s something we’d all look forward to.”
