TOLEDO, OH – Forward Johnny Waldron returns to Toledo after agreeing to terms for the 2026-27 ECHL season, his first as a professional.
Waldron, of Batavia, Illinois, posted 16 points (7G, 9A) and 18 penalty minutes in 30 games for the Walleye last season, including a two-goal performance in his professional debut, a feat that hadn’t been done since Patrick Curry (3/12/2022) during the 100th consecutive sellout on February 6, 2026. Additionally, he skated in one playoff game at a +2. He tallied eight points (1G, 7A) and ten penalty minutes in 21 games at Arizona State University last season prior to signing with Toledo.
Prior to his senior season at Arizona St., he played three seasons with teammate Dylan Moulton at the University of Miami (OH), recording 56 points (22G, 34A) and 40 penalty minutes over 93 games as a RedHawk. Prior to college, he played parts of four USHL seasons (2018-22) with the Waterloo Black Hawks, accumulating 60 points (17G, 43A) and 42 penalty minutes in 110 games.
