TOLEDO, OH – Forward Kyle Gaffney returns to the Walleye for his first full professional season after agreeing to terms for the 2026-27 ECHL season.
Gaffney, hailing from Plymouth, Michigan, picked up a pair of assists in five regular season games, followed by five points (3G, 2A) and a +3 and appearing in all 12 playoff games for the Walleye last season. He posted 17 points (4G, 13A) and 20 penalty minutes in 40 games for the University of Minnesota-Duluth last season prior to signing with Toledo.
Prior to his senior season at Minnesota-Duluth, he skated three seasons at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, accumulating 43 points (13G, 30A), 35 penalty minutes, and a +4 in 99 games. He played two NAHL seasons (2020-22) for the Aberdeen Wings, serving as the Captain in his second season (2021-22) and collecting 67 points (17G, 50A), 99 penalty minutes, and a +27 in 105 games.
