TOLEDO, OH – The Toledo Walleye have agreed to terms with forward Scott Docherty for the 2026-27 ECHL season, his second ECHL season and first with Toledo.
The 6’5”-230-pound Docherty (dock-err-tee), is a native of Oakville, Ontario. He split the 2025-26 season between South Carolina of the ECHL, Columbus of the FPHL, and he also skated in one game for Hazelton of the CIHL. He picked up one assist and 31 penalty minutes over 12 games in his first taste of ECHL action for the Stingrays. Additionally, he posted 11 points (2G, 9A) and 22 penalty minutes in 21 games for the Columbus River Dragons, the same club he made his American hockey debut with in 2024-25, adding 16 points (8G, 8A), 103 penalty minutes, and a +9 in 47 games to his resumé.
He appeared in three collegiate seasons with SUNY-Cortland in the NCAA’s Division III, accumulating 10 points (6G, 4A) and 29 penalty minutes in 43 games. Following his collegiate career, he joined the CIHL’s Hazelton Wolverines, racking-up 33 points (12G, 21A) and 50 penalty minutes in 19 games over parts of three seasons. He’s spent parts of the last two seasons with the aforementioned Columbus River Dragons, totaling 27 points (10G, 17A), 125 penalty minutes, and a +4 in 68 FPHL games.
