Walleye News and Notes

Perfect three for three: Toledo ran its winning streak to four consecutive games with a perfect three-win weekend at the Huntington Center. Toledo outscored Fort Wayne, Kansas City and Cincinnati 11-3 over the weekend.

Home cooking: A standing room only crowd of 8,155 in Sunday’s weekend finale meant Toledo went over the sellout mark (7,431) in two of the three home contests this past weekend. That pushed the sellout total to 14 for the year and just six away from last year’s record 20 sellouts. The Walleye are averaging over a sellout this year 7,474 per contest which is second most in the ECHL.

Scoring first: Toledo collected the first goal in all three games this past weekend and has been deadly when collecting the first tally boasting a record of 17-1-1-1.

All-Star shines: Goaltender Pat Nagle went a perfect 2-0-0 this weekend allowing just two goals in two contests. The first time ECHL All-Star collected his league-leading 18th win of the season Sunday in a 2-1 thriller over Cincinnati. His third period save landing him on ESPN’s Sportscenter with the number 2 top play of the night. For the season, Nagle has a record of 18-3-2-0 with a 2.49 goals against average and .913 save percentage.

To the state of Missouri: Toledo heads to Kansas City for three straight games starting Friday night. It is the only appearance this year for the Walleye in KC as the two teams will play the remaining contests at the Huntington Center. Toledo hosted the Mavericks on Saturday night and finished with a 6-1 decision.

Walleye Player of the Week: Connor Crisp (3 goals – 1 assist = 4 points)

Walleye Goaltender of the Week: Pat Nagle (2-0-0, 1.00 GAA, .961 save %)
