Fort Wayne, Indiana - The Toledo Walleye fell to the Fort Wayne Komets 2-1 with Nolan Moyle scoring the lone goal of the game for Toledo, a shorthand, one-handed score in the second period.

Here's how it happened:

Coming off an overtime win against the Kalamazoo Wings, Toledo got off to a steady start in their afternoon matchup against the Fort Wayne Komets. Fort Wayne drew their first penalty of the game at 12:29 but held off Toledo and kept the score at zero all around. With just under 4 minutes remaining in the first period, #62 Mitch Hults scored the first goal of afternoon for the Komets, with assists from #13 Cody Morgan and #17 Jonny Tychonick, ending the first period at 1-0 Komets.

Toledo entered the second period on a power play after the Komets drew their second minor of the game late in the first, but were unable to find the goal with the man advantage. Toledo had their third opportunity at a power play goal after a high-stick by Fort Wayne, putting 2 shots on goal but remained scoreless as they crossed the halfway point.

The Walleye caught their second penalty with 3:50 remaining in the second period. The Komets made a 3 on 1 push into Walleye territory, but a steal by #15 Marcus Crawford led to and a shorthanded goal by #27 Nolan Moyle. This is the second shorthand goal by the Walleye this season, and the first goal of the season for Moyle.

Fort Wayne started the third period with a quick penalty but Toledo was again unable to score while up a man. Toledo picked up the second penalty of the period at 5:44 which led to a trio of saves by goalkeeper #31 Carter Gylander, and another penalty kill for Toledo.

Picking up their fourth penalty of the game with 2:15 left to play, Toledo pulled their goalie and sent out an extra man to try and even things up but were unable to capitalize, final score 2-1 Komets.
