(Toledo, OH) – Toledo has acquired forward Colin Jacobs from the Atlanta Gladiators in exchange for defenseman Davis Vandane. The Walleye skate tonight in Indy at 7:05 p.m.
Jacobs, a native of Coppell, Texas, comes to Toledo after appearing in 39 games this year with the Atlanta Gladiators. He has scored nine goals with 13 assists with 30 penalty minutes while playing as a plus 11 over the course of this year. The former 4th round pick of the Buffalo Sabers in the 2011 NHL Draft has appeared in 46 career games at the AHL level with Rochester with a pair of goals and five assists.
In the 2015-16 season, Jacobs appeared in a career best 63 games with 14 goals, 15 assists and 138 penalty minutes with skating nearly the entire year for the Elmira Jackals. Jacobs skated in the WHL for four years prior to turning professional between Seattle and Prince George. The 6’1”, 200 pound forward collected 53 points (25G, 28A) and 98 penalty minutes in the 2012-13 season, his last in the WHL.
Vandane had 21 points (5G, 16A) and 25 penalty minutes over 48 games played for the Walleye this year. He leaves Toledo with a plus 21.
