TOLEDO, OH – The Toledo Walleye have acquired defenseman Carter Schade from the Reading Royals, sending forward Nate Roy to the Trois-Rivières Lions to fulfill their obligations. Defenseman Wyatt McLeod is going from Trois-Rivières to Reading to complete the trade.
Schade, of Mars, Pennsylvania, turned pro with Reading for three games last season, scoring a goal and adding four penalty minutes following the completion of his 2025-26 collegiate season with Penn St. During his senior season as a Nittany Lion, he picked up four assists and 38 penalty minutes in 34 games. During his four seasons in University Park, the blue-liner totaled 22 assists and 97 penalty minutes in 126 games. Prior to attending Penn St., he collected 50 points (8G, 42A), 104 penalty minutes, and a +27 in 112 USHL games across three seasons with the Lincoln Stars.
Roy got his first taste of professional action with the Walleye last season, tallying 21 points (9G, 12A), 20 penalty minutes, and a +6 in 62 games. He now returns to his home province to continue his professional career.
