TOLEDO, OH – Forward Mitch Lewandowski will return to the Pond for a fourth season in Toledo after agreeing to terms for the 2026-27 ECHL season.
Lewandowski, hailing from Clarkston, Michigan, posted 44 points (12G, 32A), 24 penalty minutes, and a +13 in 50 games for the Fish after returning to the United States mid-season. He began his 2025-26 season with Södertälje SK of HockeyAllsvenskan (Sweden), posting three points (1G, 2A), four penalty minutes, and a -8 in 11 games. He added nine points (1G, 8A), eight penalty minutes, and a +1 across all 12 playoff games for the Walleye during the spring.
Lewandowski has been an effective member of the Walleye, as he ranks in the top-10 of 11 different stat categories of Walleye hockey history. He is the most efficient shooter (min. 300 shots) at 17.09%, and ties with Alden Hirschfeld for the most shorthanded goals in team history (6). See the rest of his rankings below. During his Walleye career, he has accumulated 159 points (54G, 105A), 73 penalty minutes, and a +55 in 165 games across the previous three seasons.
Lewandowski has played in 200 professional games across three leagues, scoring 168 points (58G, 110A) with 77 penalty minutes and a +46. All of his ECHL action has come in a Walleye uniform, as he missed the entire 2022-23 season as a member of the Orlando Solar Bears. The forward has seen action in 24 AHL games across three seasons, splitting time with Tucson, Cleveland, and Milwaukee, while posting six points (3G, 3A) and a -1. Prior to his pro career, Lewandowski played five seasons at Michigan State University, scoring 120 points (56G, 64A), 144 penalty minutes, and a -8 in 156 collegiate games, while wearing an “A” in his final two seasons as a Spartan. He also appeared in 106 USHL games from 2014-17 split between Chicago and Des Moines, racking up 52 points (22G, 30A), 42 penalty minutes, and a +4.
